Our Story
The city of Tyler has a special place in my heart, It’s home! I moved to Tyler when I was 8 years old and had the pleasure of experiencing the Tyler ISD School system. I grew up in north Tyler, in a small home with 12 other family members (6 being children), and I thought it was the best thing in the world! As I grew older, with a single parent and two other siblings, I started to see the real struggle, I started to see the sacrifices my mother was making to keep food on the table, I start to questioning things, and started forming ideas of what I had to do with my life to succeed when I grew up. From a young age, as far as I can remember, I came up with 3 goals for my life. I had made up my mind that I was going to go to college, be there for my children and eventually find a way to give back by helping other family’s going though poverty.
My journey so far has been full of hardships, I was young & naive now knowing what path I had put myself on, but it has made me a better person and would do it all over again. Now, I have practice in the Architectural field for 15 years, have been married for 10 years and have two adorable children that I could not see my life with out. In 2013 we decided to a make a life change and move back to Tyler in order to give our children a little bit of stability, it was a tough decision to make, but I figured now was the time to start working towards my third goal in life.
Being away from Tyler for thirteen years, I was always been excited to visit Tyler over the years, to see what was new around town. I felt like I was in the back seat seeing our City grow and evolve over the years as it expanded to the south as it forgot about downtown and the north end of town. Believing architecture can play a role in strengthening our community, we decided to embark on a new adventure that would allow us to help shape our city for the young generation, since Tyler is getting younger.
